Wilhelm Furtwängler

Wilhelm Furtwängler (1886–1954) was a German conductor and composer, best known for leading the Berlin Philharmonic and interpreting German and Austrian orchestral music.

Berlin Philharmonic: A German orchestra founded in 1882 and based in Berlin. Furtwängler served as its principal conductor from 1922 to 1945 and again from 1952 until his death.
Beethoven's Ninth Symphony: Ludwig van Beethoven’s final completed symphony, featuring a choral finale based on Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy.” Furtwängler’s 1951 Bayreuth performance became one of his most celebrated recordings.
