Wilhelm von Humboldt

Wilhelm von Humboldt (1767–1835) was a Prussian philosopher, linguist, diplomat, and educational reformer. His ideas about language and university education influenced modern linguistics and the founding of the University of Berlin.

Alexander von Humboldt: A Prussian naturalist and explorer whose scientific work transformed the study of nature. His younger brother shared Wilhelm’s humanist upbringing while pursuing a contrasting scientific career.
