William Henry Harrison

William Henry Harrison was an American military officer and politician who became the ninth U.S. president in 1841. His career included campaigns against Indigenous nations and a long rise through territorial and national politics.

Northwest Indian War: A conflict between the United States and a confederation of Indigenous nations over control of the Ohio Country, ending in 1795. Harrison entered military service during this struggle and served in the campaigns that expanded U.S. control.
