William Stewart Halsted

William Stewart Halsted (1852–1922) was an American surgeon who shaped modern surgical education and developed techniques including radical mastectomy and the use of rubber gloves.

William Osler: A Canadian physician who helped establish Johns Hopkins Hospital and its medical school. Osler was Halsted’s colleague in the founding faculty of Johns Hopkins.
