Willis Lamb

Willis Lamb was an American physicist whose precision measurements of hydrogen revealed a small energy-level difference now called the Lamb shift, helping establish quantum electrodynamics.

Robert Retherford: An American physicist who collaborated with Willis Lamb on microwave measurements of hydrogen’s energy levels. Retherford shared the 1947 experiment that exposed the unexpected separation in hydrogen.
