Woodlouse

A woodlouse is a terrestrial isopod crustacean, usually found in damp places and feeding mainly on decaying plant matter. Unlike insects, it has a segmented body and seven pairs of legs.

Isopoda: An order of crustaceans with a flattened body, seven pairs of thoracic legs, and no carapace. Woodlice are the terrestrial members of this order.
Woodlouse lung: A respiratory structure formed by air-filled chambers in certain woodlouse pleopods. These chambers let some woodlice exchange gases in air.
Detritivore: An organism that obtains nutrients by consuming dead organic material. Woodlice are detritivores that fragment and digest decaying leaves.
