Xenofeminism

Xenofeminism is a feminist movement and philosophy that treats technology as a tool for transforming social and biological conditions. It seeks gender abolition and emancipation through collective, anti-naturalist politics.

Gender abolition: A political aim of dismantling gender as a system that assigns social roles, status, and constraints. Xenofeminism treats ending gender’s social hierarchy as a route to emancipation.
Laboria Cuboniks: A collective of six theorists who authored the Xenofeminist Manifesto. The collective formulated xenofeminism as a named political project.
Reproductive technology: Medical and technical methods that assist or alter human reproduction. Xenofeminism asks how reproductive capacities might be reorganized beyond gendered control.

Artificial womb: A proposed or developing system for gestation outside a human uterus. It makes visible the movement’s interest in transforming biological constraints on reproduction.
Transhumanism: A movement advocating the use of science and technology to expand human capacities and overcome limitations. Xenofeminism shares interest in transformation but centers feminist collective emancipation.
