Yaa Asantewaa

Yaa Asantewaa was the queen mother of Ejisu who led Asante resistance against British colonial rule during the 1900 War of the Golden Stool.

Ejisu: A traditional Asante polity and town in present-day Ghana, historically governed by an omanhene and queen mother. Yaa Asantewaa held the queen-mother title in this polity.
