Yamagata Aritomo

Yamagata Aritomo (1838–1922) was a Japanese military leader and politician who helped build the Imperial Japanese Army and served twice as prime minister.

Itō Hirobumi: A Japanese statesman who helped draft the Meiji Constitution and served four times as prime minister. A fellow Chōshū leader, he worked with Yamagata in building the Meiji government.
