Yamal LNG

Yamal LNG is a liquefied natural gas project on Russia’s Yamal Peninsula, built around the South Tambey gas field and the port of Sabetta.

South Tambey gas field: A large natural gas field on the Yamal Peninsula that supplies Yamal LNG. Its gas and condensate reserves feed the project’s liquefaction plant.
Novatek: A Russian natural gas producer and the principal shareholder of Yamal LNG. Novatek initiated the project and operates its production facilities.
Liquefied natural gas: Natural gas cooled into a liquid to reduce its volume for storage and transport. Yamal LNG is a large-scale source of this globally traded fuel.

TotalEnergies: A French multinational energy company with oil, gas, and renewable-energy businesses. TotalEnergies became a major foreign partner and shareholder in Yamal LNG.
