Yamato period

An early period of Japanese history, conventionally dated from the third to the seventh century, when the Yamato polity emerged and consolidated its rule.

Yamato polity: The early Japanese political formation centered on the Yamato region that developed into an enduring court. Its rulers and allied clans formed the political core of the period.
Yayoi period: A Japanese historical period associated with wet-rice agriculture, metalworking, and major social change before the Kofun era. Its regional communities preceded the political landscape from which Yamato rose.
Emperor Sujin: A legendary early emperor of Japan whose historical existence and dates are uncertain. Traditions associate his reign with the beginnings of Yamato kingship.
