Yangtze River floods

Flood events occur when water levels rise along the Yangtze River and its tributaries, inundating river channels, lakes, and nearby settlements.

East Asian monsoon: A seasonal circulation system that brings much of East Asia’s annual rainfall. Monsoon rains supply the principal seasonal pulse of water to the Yangtze basin.
