Yermak Timofeyevich

Yermak Timofeyevich was a Cossack leader whose campaign against the Khanate of Sibir in the 1580s opened the way for Russian expansion across Siberia.

Battle of Chuvash Cape: A 1582 battle in which Yermak’s forces defeated the army of Khan Kuchum near Isker. This victory enabled Yermak to seize the Sibir khanate’s capital.
