Yoruba religion

Yoruba religion comprises the indigenous traditions of the Yoruba, centered on Olodumare, the orishas, divination, ritual, and relationships with ancestors.

Olodumare: The supreme creator in Yoruba religious thought, associated with the source of existence and authority. The supreme deity anchors the religious order in which orishas mediate divine power.
Odu Ifá: The 256 literary and divinatory configurations that organize the verses and interpretations of Ifá. Odu provide the patterns through which a diviner interprets a consultation.
Yorubaland: The cultural region of southwestern Nigeria and neighboring areas associated with the Yoruba people. The traditions took shape within the diverse towns and kingdoms of this region.
Orisha worship: Devotional practices directed toward orishas through offerings, prayer, music, festivals, and other rites. It is a central way practitioners cultivate relationships with particular orishas.
