Young Germany

Young Germany was a literary movement of the 1830s whose writers challenged political censorship, social convention, and conservative Romanticism through politically engaged prose and poetry.

Heinrich Heine: German poet, writer, and critic whose works joined literary innovation with political and social commentary. His poems and journalism became the movement’s most enduring literary legacy.
