Yves Chauvin

Yves Chauvin (1930–2015) was a French chemist who explained the metal-carbene mechanism of olefin metathesis and shared the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry.

Robert H. Grubbs: An American chemist who developed practical catalysts for olefin metathesis and shared the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Grubbs developed catalyst systems that helped turn Chauvin’s mechanistic insight into a widely used synthetic method.
