Zayd ibn Thabit

Zayd ibn Thabit was a Medinan companion of Muhammad who served as a scribe and led the collection of Quranic revelations into a written corpus.

Muhammad: Muhammad was the religious and political leader whose revelations form the basis of Islam. Zayd served Muhammad as a scribe, recording revelations during his lifetime.
Quranic manuscript: A handwritten copy of the Quran, transmitted in manuscript form before and after printing. Zayd’s collection was first preserved as a written manuscript.
