Zhang Guotao

Zhang Guotao was a founding member of the Chinese Communist Party who led a major Red Army force before breaking with Mao Zedong and defecting to the Nationalist government.

Mao Zedong: Mao Zedong was a Chinese Communist revolutionary who led the People’s Republic of China from its founding in 1949 until his death in 1976. Their rivalry over party leadership and military strategy culminated in Zhang’s departure.
