Zizhi Tongjian

A monumental Chinese chronicle compiled under Sima Guang and his collaborators, narrating political events from 403 BCE to 959 CE in chronological form.

Sima Guang: A Song dynasty historian and statesman who directed the compilation of the Zizhi Tongjian. He led the project, shaped its historical judgments, and wrote much of its narrative.
