Abdul Salam Arif

Abdul Salam Arif was an Iraqi military officer and politician who served as president from 1963 until his death in 1966.

Iraqi Revolution of 1958: A military coup on 14 July 1958 that overthrew Iraq’s Hashemite monarchy and established a republic. Arif became a leading officer in the coup that brought the monarchy down.
