Acadia

Acadia was a historical region of northeastern North America associated with French settlement, encompassing parts of present-day Atlantic Canada and the northeastern United States.

Pierre Dugua, Sieur de Mons: A French nobleman who organized an early colonial expedition to Acadia in 1604. He led the expedition that founded the first French settlement at Île Sainte-Croix.
