Ajanta Caves

Ajanta Caves are a group of Buddhist rock-cut monuments in Maharashtra, India, containing monasteries, shrines, sculptures, and renowned murals created mainly between the second century BCE and fifth century CE.

Buddhism: A religious and philosophical tradition founded in ancient India around the teachings of the Buddha. Buddhist beliefs and practices shaped the caves’ shrines, monastic spaces, and imagery.
