Al-Mansur

Al-Mansur was the second Abbasid caliph, ruling from 754 to 775. He consolidated Abbasid authority and founded Baghdad as the dynasty’s capital.

Abbasid Revolution: The uprising that overthrew the Umayyad Caliphate and brought the Abbasids to power in 750. Its victory created the dynasty whose authority Al-Mansur worked to secure.
Abu al-Abbas al-Saffah: The first Abbasid caliph, who ruled from 750 to 754. Al-Mansur succeeded his brother, inheriting a newly established caliphate.
