Andrei Gromyko

Andrei Gromyko was a Soviet diplomat and politician who served as foreign minister from 1957 to 1985 and head of state from 1985 to 1988.

Joseph Stalin: Joseph Stalin led the Soviet Union from the late 1920s until his death in 1953. Stalin appointed Gromyko ambassador to the United States in 1943.

Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty: The Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty is an international agreement limiting the spread of nuclear weapons. Gromyko signed the treaty for the Soviet Union in 1968.
