Angkor

Angkor was the Khmer Empire’s urban and temple complex in Cambodia, serving as its capital region from the ninth to fifteenth centuries. Its cities, reservoirs, roads, and monumental temples formed an extensive landscape.

Angkor Wat: A twelfth-century temple complex built under Suryavarman II and dedicated to Vishnu. Its scale and design exemplify the monumental temple building associated with Angkor.
