Aomori Prefecture

A prefecture at the northern tip of Japan’s Honshu island, facing Hokkaido across the Tsugaru Strait. It is known for apple production, heavy winter snowfall, and the Nebuta festival.

Honshu: The largest island of Japan, containing Tokyo and most of the country’s population. Aomori occupies Honshu’s northernmost end.
