Baffin Bay

Baffin Bay is a marginal sea of the Arctic Ocean between Greenland and Baffin Island, connected to the Atlantic Ocean through the Labrador Sea.

West Greenland Current: A northward-flowing ocean current along the western coast of Greenland. It carries relatively warm Atlantic water into Baffin Bay along Greenland’s coast.
Baffin Island: A large island in the Canadian Arctic Archipelago, east of mainland Canada. Its eastern coast forms the western boundary of Baffin Bay.
Northwest Passage: A network of Arctic sea routes through the Canadian Arctic Archipelago connecting the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. Baffin Bay is an eastern gateway to routes through the Canadian Arctic.

Lancaster Sound: A broad Arctic waterway between Devon Island and Baffin Island in northern Canada. It connects Baffin Bay with the waterways of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago.
Arctic sea ice: Sea ice formed in the Arctic Ocean and its surrounding seas. Seasonal ice cover governs navigation and marine conditions across the bay.
Labrador Sea: A North Atlantic sea between Labrador and Greenland. Baffin Bay connects to the Atlantic through this adjoining sea.
