Battle of Myriokephalon

The Battle of Myriokephalon was fought in 1176 between the Byzantine Empire under Manuel I Komnenos and the Seljuk Sultanate of Rum under Kilij Arslan II. The Seljuks ambushed the Byzantine army in a mountain pass in western Anatolia, halting Manuel’s campaign to recover the region.
