Wars of the Roses : A series of English dynastic conflicts between the houses of Lancaster and York, fought mainly from 1455 to 1487. The battle was a decisive Yorkist victory in this wider dynastic struggle.
Henry VI of England : King of England whose periods of mental illness and political weakness helped destabilize the Lancastrian regime. His restoration in 1470 displaced Edward IV and set the dynastic crisis in motion.
George Plantagenet, Duke of Clarence : A son of Richard, Duke of York, who alternately supported and opposed his brother Edward IV. He had returned to Edward’s side before the campaign and fought for the Yorkists.
Death of Edward of Westminster : The death of Henry VI’s son after the Lancastrian defeat at Tewkesbury in 1471. His death removed the Lancastrian heir who could have continued the dynastic challenge.

Richard, Duke of Gloucester : The future Richard III, a younger brother of Edward IV and a Yorkist military commander. He fought in Edward’s army at Tewkesbury, helping defeat the Lancastrian force.
Edward of Westminster : The only son of Henry VI and Margaret of Anjou, and the Lancastrian heir to the English throne. He commanded the Lancastrian army and was killed after its defeat.
