Battle of the Chosin Reservoir

A November–December 1950 campaign in northeastern Korea in which United Nations forces fought Chinese troops and withdrew toward the port of Hungnam.

Chosin Reservoir: A reservoir in northeastern Korea, called Changjin Reservoir in Korean, around which the 1950 campaign was fought. The reservoir and surrounding mountains gave the campaign its name and constrained movement.
