Cape of Good Hope

A rocky headland on South Africa’s Atlantic coast, near Cape Town, marking the southwestern tip of the African continent. It lies within Table Mountain National Park.

Bartolomeu Dias: A Portuguese explorer who led the first recorded European voyage around the southern tip of Africa in 1488. His 1488 voyage reached the headland and helped establish a route around Africa.
Cape Point: A prominent headland within Table Mountain National Park, southeast of the Cape of Good Hope. It is often mistaken for the continent’s southernmost point, but lies southeast of the cape.
