Cotton spinning

Cotton spinning converts loose cotton fibers into yarn by opening and cleaning the fibers, aligning them, and twisting them into a continuous strand.

Cotton ginning: Cotton ginning separates cotton fibers from seeds and other plant material after harvest. Ginning removes seeds before the fibers enter the spinning mill.
Cotton fiber: A cotton fiber is a single-celled seed hair composed mainly of cellulose. Its length, fineness, and surface shape constrain the yarn that spinning can produce.
