Direct diffusion : The spread of cultural traits through direct contact between people or groups. It captures exchange through face-to-face contact, one route by which traits cross group boundaries.
Cultural trait : A learned feature of culture, such as a practice, belief, tool, or symbol. Diffusion concerns the movement of specific traits, not whole cultures as indivisible units.
Silk Road : A network of Eurasian trade routes that connected East Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Trade along these routes carried religions, technologies, goods, and artistic styles across regions.
