Ferdinand II of Aragon

Ferdinand II of Aragon (1452–1516) was king of Aragon from 1479 and ruled jointly with Isabella I of Castile. Their marriage and dynastic policies joined the crowns of Aragon and Castile under a shared monarchy.

Isabella I of Castile: Queen of Castile from 1474 to 1504, she ruled jointly with Ferdinand II of Aragon. Their marriage linked the crowns while leaving each kingdom’s laws and institutions distinct.
