Fish trap

A device or structure that catches fish by guiding them into an enclosure or chamber from which escape is difficult.

Fyke net: A passive fishing net with funnel-shaped entrances leading through chambers into a terminal bag. Its funnels and chambers exemplify how a trap can guide fish inward while restricting escape.
Fishing net: A mesh textile used to catch or contain aquatic animals. Many fish traps use netting for their funnels, walls, or holding chambers.

Ghost fishing: The continued capture of aquatic animals by lost or abandoned fishing gear. A lost trap can keep catching animals after fishers can no longer retrieve it.
