German resistance to Nazism

German resistance to Nazism comprised individuals and groups that opposed the Nazi regime through criticism, noncooperation, sabotage, rescue, or attempts to overthrow it.

White Rose: A student-led resistance group that distributed anti-Nazi leaflets in Munich in 1942 and 1943. Its leaflets turned moral protest into a public challenge to the regime.
Anti-Nazi pamphlets: Printed texts that criticized Nazi rule and circulated outside state-controlled propaganda channels. The White Rose used clandestine pamphlets to reach Germans with direct political arguments.
Hans Scholl: A German medical student and founding member of the White Rose resistance group. He helped write and distribute the group's anti-Nazi leaflets.
Nazi seizure of power: The process by which Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party established dictatorship in Germany in 1933. The dismantling of political freedoms created the conditions resistance had to confront.
