Great Patriotic War

The Great Patriotic War is the Soviet name for the conflict between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany and its allies from 1941 to 1945, the Eastern Front of World War II.

Operation Barbarossa: The Axis invasion of the Soviet Union, launched on 22 June 1941. It began the war and brought German forces deep into Soviet territory.
Nazi Germany: The German state ruled by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party from 1933 to 1945. Its leadership launched the invasion and sought to conquer Soviet territory.
