Andrew Carnegie : A Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist who led the Carnegie steel enterprises. Carnegie made Frick chairman of Carnegie Steel, and their partnership later collapsed over control of the company.
Carnegie Steel Company : An American steel producer that became one of the world’s largest industrial companies before its 1901 sale. Frick managed the company’s operations and helped make its steel production highly profitable.
Pinkerton National Detective Agency : A private security and detective agency founded in the United States in 1850. Frick hired Pinkerton guards during the Homestead conflict, leading to a deadly confrontation with workers.
