Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration

The Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration was a period from the late 19th century to the 1920s when expeditions mapped Antarctica and pursued the geographic South Pole.

Discovery Expedition: Robert Falcon Scott’s 1901–1904 British Antarctic expedition, which explored the Ross Sea region and the Antarctic interior. Its journeys helped launch the era’s sustained British exploration of Antarctica.
