Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik

Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik was the tenth Umayyad caliph, ruling from 724 to 743. His reign was marked by frontier wars, internal revolts, and efforts to strengthen the caliphate’s administration.

Umayyad Caliphate: The caliphate ruled by the Umayyad dynasty from 661 to 750, centered first in Damascus. Hisham ruled its Syrian-centered empire during its final decades.
