Homi J. Bhabha

Homi J. Bhabha was an Indian nuclear physicist who founded and led India’s atomic energy program and established major research institutions, including the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research.

Jawaharlal Nehru: India’s first prime minister, who led the country from independence in 1947 until 1964. Nehru backed Bhabha’s vision of state-led nuclear research and atomic energy.
Tata Institute of Fundamental Research: An Indian research institute founded in Mumbai in 1945 for advanced work in the sciences. Bhabha founded TIFR as the research center at the heart of his scientific vision.
Cambridge University: A public research university in Cambridge, England, founded in 1209. Bhabha studied physics at Cambridge and conducted early research there.
