James G. Blaine

James Gillespie Blaine was a Republican politician from Maine who served as Speaker of the House, U.S. senator, and secretary of state, and was the Republican presidential nominee in 1884.

James A. Garfield: James A. Garfield was the 20th president of the United States, serving from March to September 1881. Garfield appointed Blaine secretary of state in 1881.
