Joachim von Ribbentrop

Joachim von Ribbentrop was Nazi Germany’s foreign minister from 1938 to 1945 and a principal negotiator of its prewar treaties. Convicted of crimes against peace and war crimes at Nuremberg, he was executed in 1946.

Munich Agreement: The Munich Agreement was a 1938 accord permitting Germany to annex the Sudetenland from Czechoslovakia. Ribbentrop took part in the negotiations that transferred the Sudetenland to Germany.
Crimes Against Peace: Crimes against peace are the planning, preparation, initiation, or waging of wars of aggression. The tribunal convicted Ribbentrop for helping plan and launch aggressive wars through foreign policy.
German Foreign Office: The German Foreign Office is Germany’s government ministry responsible for foreign relations. Ribbentrop led this institution while increasingly subordinating professional diplomacy to Nazi policy.
Vyacheslav Molotov: Vyacheslav Molotov was a Soviet statesman and foreign minister from 1939 to 1949, apart from 1941 to 1943. He negotiated with Ribbentrop the 1939 German-Soviet pact and its secret protocols.
Pact of Steel: The Pact of Steel was a 1939 military and political alliance between Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Ribbentrop signed this alliance, binding Germany and Italy more closely before the Second World War.
