Knowra John Dee John Dee John Dee (1527–1609/10) was an English mathematician, astronomer, astrologer, and occult philosopher who advised Elizabeth I and sought knowledge through communication with angels.
Elizabeth I : Elizabeth I was queen of England and Ireland from 1558 until 1603. Dee advised her on navigation, astrology, and the timing of her coronation.
Enochian magic : Enochian magic is a system of ritual practice based on purported angelic language and revelations recorded by Dee and Kelley. It developed from the angelic communications Dee pursued with Kelley.
Renaissance mathematics : Renaissance mathematics was the study and practical use of arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and related techniques in early modern Europe. Dee promoted mathematics as a foundation for navigation, engineering, and natural philosophy.
