Kitasato Shibasaburō

Kitasato Shibasaburō was a Japanese physician and bacteriologist who helped establish serum therapy and co-discovered the bacterium responsible for bubonic plague.

Emil von Behring: A German physiologist who developed diphtheria antitoxin therapy with Kitasato. Their 1890 work on antitoxins helped establish serum therapy.
