Lahore Resolution

A resolution adopted by the All-India Muslim League in Lahore in March 1940, calling for independent states in the Muslim-majority regions of British India.

All-India Muslim League: A political organization founded in 1906 to represent Muslim interests in British India. The League adopted the resolution at its annual session in Lahore.
A. K. Fazlul Huq: A Bengali politician who served as premier of Bengal and moved the Lahore Resolution at the League’s 1940 session. Huq formally presented the resolution to the League gathering.
