French Legion of Honour

France’s highest national order of merit, established by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. It recognizes distinguished civil or military service to France.

Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour: The highest grade of the French Legion of Honour, typically awarded to senior figures and heads of state. It is the order’s top grade, above the other four ranks.
