Memphis

Memphis was an ancient Egyptian capital near the Nile Delta, serving as a center of royal administration and craft production. Its nearby necropolis at Saqqara contains royal and elite tombs spanning millennia.

Narmer: An early Egyptian king traditionally associated with the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. Later tradition connected Memphis’s foundation with the unification attributed to Narmer.
