Miklós Horthy

Miklós Horthy was a Hungarian naval officer and conservative politician who served as regent from 1920 to 1944, heading a kingdom without a king.

Kingdom of Hungary (1920–1946): The Hungarian state restored after World War I, governed as a kingdom without a reigning monarch. Horthy was its regent, exercising head-of-state powers while the throne remained vacant.
