Minamoto no Yoshitsune

Minamoto no Yoshitsune was a 12th-century Japanese samurai commander whose victories helped the Minamoto clan defeat the Taira clan in the Genpei War.

Battle of Ichinotani: A 1184 battle in which Minamoto forces captured the Taira stronghold at Ichinotani. Yoshitsune’s surprise attack from the cliffs helped break the Taira position.
